Happy 2011 all! A little late. Well, this has been an eventful year both personally and professionally so far. I am in the process of make drastic changes in both, hopefully for the best. Personally, I am trying to reorganize my life (not that I am sure if my life ever had any order to begin with). I am throwing away EVERYTHING in the house. I am trying to declutter as best as I can and it cannot happen soon enough. I have started working out again. Almost finished with my Blakey weight. What is it about the second baby that makes the weight superglue on??? With Luke, I just sort of snapped my fingers and POOF the weight left. UGH! Oh well!! Guess it is going to take hard work this time! That bowl of magic shell ice cream didn't help either.
Professionally, I am trying for a new position at work. I have heard sooooo many good things about my new potential manager. I am so excited. I love my current manager, but she is stepping down.
Poker-wise, I am starting to play more again. I am really starting to figure out my end game. I am picking up my aggression in the right spots and trapping really well. Unfortunately, sometimes, they just "get there." Yesterday was brutal. AA < A4os. KK < A3os. 77 < 55. JJ < 88. KK < 88. Finally, get super deep with 2 entries in the 3 rebuy on Full Tilt. (full tilt now allows you multiple entries into the same tournament. I was skeptical at first, but I am LOVING it. The fields are so soft. If you can get a stack in just one, you can really run over the tables if you know how to play). Anyway, back to the 3r. Get down to 120 in one. I shove AT over top of a small raise. He snap calls. A2os. 2 on flop. GG me. Ok - well, this just means I am going to have good luck in the other.....right? WRONG! Here was the hand that busted me around 100th place in the other.

The hand turned out to be very standard (preflop-wise). No matter what I would have done, AK and KK were getting all of their money in. BUT - if you want to know my logic behind the hand, I will share. The BB was sitting out (and only had a little over 1 BB left in her stack). I min-raised to give the "illusion" that I was just trying to steal, but would fold to a shove. This play doesn't work as well in the higher limits, but in the 3 rebuy....it will work every time if anyone behind me picks up 55+ or KQo+.
It wasn't meant to be this weekend. I will be back to the grind again this week.
On a side note: in 3rd place in the Baton Rouge ratings on Pocketfives.com. Only 200ish more points to catch my friend Bryan in first. My goal for February is to take him down :)
